Stretching This picture clearly shows the layout of the pinfeathers on one of the younger chicks - see how long they are?   The little tuft at the end of each pin shows that the feathers are starting to unfurl. By the tomorrow, the darker chick will have full wings, like his one-day-older sibling, whom you can see is almost fully feathered, quite the comparison to just one day ago!
