Gaining Ground Here you can clearly see the incredible gains the chicks have made over the past few days... they can stand almost as tall as their mother, which makes it a little more difficult for her to feed - their heads bob and weave as they cry, meaning she needs to have very good aim! The edge of the nest is a little dirty, but the inside is still clean, and the chicks themselves are clean, healthy, and strong, so I won't bother to try and clean it, as I don't want to upset either parent at this critical stage of development.
