Welcome to the

Canary Cam Archives

Week Old

Dan croons quietly to wake up the sleeping chicks - one raises it's head, half-automatically, so Pappa can feed.

It is the middle of the morning on the chicks' 7th and 6th days, and you can see that the rest of the chicks have started leaving their droppings on the edge of the nest as well... my timing in banding them worked out well, the bands stayed on, and Dolly is not trying to clean them out of the nest.

Their eyes are beginning to open too, but they aren't really looking at much yet - they are still too busy concentrating on eating and growing.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
