The Clutch is Laid

April 26, 2000; The final egg is laid, and it is the slightly darker blue which often indicates that a hen's clutch is complete.

The previously laid eggs are returned to her instead of the fake eggs she has had in the meantime, and incubation begins.   It will take approximately 13 days of hard work until hatching is due - and then the real work will begin.

This site is dedicated to all of those who try to help others on our journey to a better
tomorrow, and especially to Jack Merkens, whose last words to me were "Promise
me you'll keep writing about those canaries! Never stop, ok? Promise!"
Okay, Jack. I promise.
