Afterbath Once everybody's finished bathing and preening, the flock settles in to relax. Some of the hens begin peeping, to encourage the males to sing, and once they have taken up the chorus, most of the rest settle back to enjoy listening, while a few catch a few nibbles to hold them til lunch.
